What this is
Dee & Weaver is a small site about plumbing and heating, written from Chester. We explain how the systems in your home work and what tends to go wrong with them, in language that doesn't assume you fit pipes for a living.
What we cover
We stick to the things people actually deal with. A few examples:
- What a central heating system is and how the parts connect
- Replacing a gas boiler — what's involved and roughly what it costs
- Finding a hidden leak before it ruins a ceiling
- Clearing a blocked drain without poking around blindly
- Fitting a new bathroom, from strip-out to the first shower
- Softening Cheshire's hard water so it stops furring everything up
Some pieces are local — Ellesmere Port's boilers and hard-water homes, the older housing stock around Northwich. Others are about the kit itself, like unvented cylinders or what really happens during a power flush.
How we write it
Answer first, then the explanation. We try not to waffle, and we don't pretend a quick fix is harder than it is or a big job is simpler. If something is genuinely a call-someone-out situation, we'll say so.
